Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.  

House Calls: We provide full service house call throughout the Tidewater area.
      
Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.
   
Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
    
Internal medicine consults: We offer in-hospital referrals to an internal medicine specialist who performs ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures and helps us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases.
   
Radiology Services:  Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.
   
Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ecg services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.
   
Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.
   
Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
    
Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification services.
    
Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of  Royal Canin prescription and wellness diets.
   
Individualized Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:  We are one of the few Royal Canin distributors in the area. We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

City Licenses: You can now license  your pet right here at Owl Creek Veterinary Hospital. Just ask us about it at your next visit.

    Boarding:  Here at Owl Creek Pet Hotel we take great pride in our all-indoor, climate controlled facility as well as the way our caregivers provide for your pet's special needs. Our boarding facility consists of large and extra large kennels, that will house your pet comfortable. Each pet is supplied with plush bedding, plenty of water and Royal Canin Prescription Food.
     Our feline quests have their own separate room with large "Kitty Condos" to ensure their safety and comfort. All canines go to an indoor exercise room twice daily, for approximately one hour each visit. We also provide outdoor Day Care or Walks for a small additional fee. Medications and special diets are no problem for us. Just bring in your personalized instructions when you check in. Please feel free to bring your own food if you do not want to change your pet's diet. 
     We require all canines to be current on their Rabies, Distemper and bordetella vaccinations . All felines must be current on Rabies and Feline Distemper vaccinations. Proof of those current vaccines must be brought in at the time of Check-In. If you do not have current vaccines, we will be happy to administer them while your pet is in our care. If your pet cannot be vaccinated for a medical reason, please let us know. All pets are required to be given Capstar, to reduce the chance of flea infestation within the kennel. We offer a full service veterinary hospital on the premises, for your pet's safety and your peace of mind. If your pet needs any procedures while boarding at Owl Creek, we will gladly schedule them prior to Check-In. We welcome you tour our facility and meet our caregivers, so you can rest easy while your pet is with us. Reservations for Boarding and Day Care are required.
 
     Check In: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 5:30 pm, Saturday 7:30 am - 12:00 noon
     Check Out: (To not be charged for an extra day), Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 1:00 pm, Saturday 7:30 am - 12:00 noon. Sunday Pick ups are available between 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm only. Pre-payment at time of drop off is required.

Day Care: Our Day Care Facility is available Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 6:00 pm. Drop off  your pet for a full day of fun and exercise while you are at work, running errands, or you just need a day off from your pet's needs and demands. We will be happy to care for them or you! Your pet can interact with other Day Care animals, or have a one-on-one day with our caregiver. If you have any questions please feel free to speak to any one of our staff members. We love caring for your pets and look forward to them visiting  us often.

Grooming services:  Let Jamie Cochran our professional and experienced groomer pamper your pet for the day. She specializes in all breed Styling (Dogs & Cats). We offer Hydro Surge Bathing, hand scissored cuts and full body shave downs at affordable prices.
